The Lisbon Maru left Hong Kong On October 1st 1942 and was on it’s way back to Japan with around 1800 P.O.W’s on board.

It was sunk by an American Submarine which was tailing it for about 7 days just of the coast of China near Shanghai. Unknown to them the Japanese ship contained British, American, Canadian P.O.W’s.

Ian’s tracks provided the main themes for each of the episodes portraying the events that took place. The music had to portray the dismay and sadness of the submarine crew having found out after they surface a few days later from allied radio tranmision.

At times the music becomes much more dramatic, such as the hunt of the Lisbon Maru (of the very few remaining survivors many years after when a few remaining survivors we’re interviewed by Phoenix TV.
